How
to Vote 1 Democrats in Hinkler
Robert
was born in Sydney New South Wales in 1971. He grew up on
Sydney's Lower North Shore, moving to Brisbane in 1987 and
to the Bundaberg region in 2005.
After
graduating from high school in 1989, during the "recession
we had to have", Robert went to TAFE studying business
and information technology, receiving Associate Diplomas
in Business Management (1993) and Information Technology
(1995). Robert then gained acceptance into Central Queensland
University, taking a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration
(2006) and undertaking graduate studies in Human Resource
Management and Knowledge Management.
Between
2001 and 2003, Robert served as Director on the CQU Student
Association, representing distance education student. Also
during this time, Robert served as undergraduate student
representative on various CQU Faculty of Business and Law
committees, contributing student perspectives (particularly
distance education students) on course delivery and issues.
During
the 1990's Robert became increasingly concerned about the
direction and tenor of political discourse at all levels
of public administration, seeing that common sense being
jettisoned in favour of ideological fanaticism. In 1997,
Robert made the decision to join the Australian Democrats
after evaluating the available alternatives. In addition,
Robert joined the Birkdale Progress Association in April
1997, ultimately serving as Vice President and President
in the years just before relocating to Bundaberg.
Issues
that Robert has a keen interest include::
- Animal
Welfare;
- Government
Accountability;
- Privacy;
- Employment
and education in the regions; and
- Transportation.
Professionally,
Robert is a member of the Records Management Association
of Australasia and the Institute of Management. Community
memberships (past and present) include Australian Privacy
Foundation, Moore Park Beach Community Association and Birkdale
Progress Association.
